The winner of Carl’s Messiest Garage Contest received a prize package that included four hours of professional organizing, junk hauling and a new Clopay garage door from Carl’s Door Service.

[Baldwin, Maryland] , September 3, 2014 – Elizabeth Markley of Forest Hill, the winner of Carl’s Door Service’s first annual “Carl’s Messiest Garage Contest,” received a brand new Clopay garage door installed by Carl’s Door Service on Tuesday, August 26, 2014.

To coincide with National Garage Door Safety Month in June, Carl’s Door Service partnered with professional organizing firm Sappari Solutions and junk hauling and removing company BumbleJunk to launch its first annual Carl’s Messiest Garage Contest to find the most out-of-control, packed from floor to ceiling, overflowing with stuff garage in Baltimore and Harford Counties.

Markley’s winning entry read in part, “[Our garage] has seen many things, but the one thing it has never seen is a car. After moving in, we have been busy renovating our house to make it our dream (and pushing many items to the garage for storage). Military friends have also taken the little space remaining to store their things while away. The garage door has seen its day, and the spring has broken.” Markley’s husband, Jim, is in the Delaware Air National Guard and works as an aircraft mechanic. She works as an art teacher for Harford County Public Schools.

Earlier this month, Sappari Solutions provided four hours of organizing support to help the Markley family organize their garage, and BumbleJunk hauled away their unwanted items. That cleared the way for Carl’s Door Service to come out and measure for an upgraded new Clopay door, valued at $1,500.

“The transformation is dramatic!” raved Markley. “We know where to find things, thanks to Sappari. And there’s room to actually park our cars in the garage, thanks to BumbleJunk! The new garage door will be the finishing touch. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity. We’re thrilled with the results.”

“We couldn’t be happier to have such a deserving family win our first Messiest Garage Contest,” said Chris Miller, Carl’s Door Service, Inc.’s office manager. “We look forward to making this an annual tradition.”
