[Bel Air, MD] August 29, 2014 – The Harford Land Trust (HLT), an organization that helps protect farms, forests and community parks in Harford County, will host its third annual Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction fundraiser on October 4, 2014 at Water’s Edge Events Center in Belcamp, Maryland.

According to the Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction Chair Ann Helton, last year’s event received an overwhelming amount of praise from guests and supporters and raised nearly $30,000. This year, the HLT has selected Peter Jay, past HLT board president and one of the five founding members of the organization, to serve as honorary chair of the event. “As a founding father of the HLT, Peter Jay has continued to believe in and support the HLT’s mission,” says Helton. “We are honored to highlight his support and have him has our honorary chair for this year’s event.”

The Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour, music, silent auction and end with a live auction presented by Harford County native and award-winning auctioneer Lynne Zink. Donations of goods and services for the evening’s auctions are still being accepted. Items already secured for the silent and live auctions include a tandem kayak, vacation rentals in North Carolina and New Jersey, jewelry, handcrafted furniture, hunting, fishing and kayaking trips, sailing lessons, a nature cruise, an Oldsquaw Drake Decoy and more.

Tickets to the Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction are $75 per person and include dinner, wine, beer and piano music. All proceeds collected from the event will be used to further the mission of the HLT and aid in the perpetuity of an important ecosystem and one of Maryland’s diverse and productive landscapes for future generations to enjoy.
