Lions District 22A challenged all of its charter Clubs to hold a food drive to help local food banks.

JOPPA, MD – (May 27, 2014) – Lions Club International is the world’s largest service organization.  Since 1917, Lions have served the world’s population through hard work and commitment to make a difference in the lives of people everywhere.  Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired.

The Joppatowne Lions Club was founded in 1965.  For many years, the Club’s members have participated in projects that give back to their local community and participate in various campaigns within the District 22A region, as well as support Lions International global missions.

“Lions are committed to giving back” said April Dickerson, a member of the Joppatowne Lions Club.  Lions District 22A Governor, Daniel Scott, challenged his regional Clubs to participate in a food drive to help a local food bank of their choice.  The Joppatowne Lions collected and donated 266 non-perishable food items to the food bank of Trinity Lutheran Church of Joppa, which helps local Harford County residents.
