Boy Scout Troop 936, which meets at Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company, awarded Zack Griffin his Eagle Scout medal on March 22. This was their second Eagle Scout in six months.
Requirements to meet this award included fundraising, contacting business support and supervising the clearing and mulching of the chosen project, the Agape House.
This achievement was acknowledged by personal letters from Gen. Alexander of the NSA, a flag flown over the capitol in his honor by Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger and a signed photo by Bear Grylls, recent Chief Scout for the UK and celebrity of “Man vs. Wild.”
