From the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County:

Zayrron is a junior at Havre de Grace High School and a seven-year member of the Havre de Grace Club.

He is active at his church, Helping Hands Ministries, where he volunteers as a cameraman, attends bible study, and helps with events like Unity in the Community. He is an A student and a gifted athlete, earning both Principal’s Honor Roll awards, as well as varsity athletic awards.

At the Club, Zayrron is president of the Keystone Club and is a role model to his peers and to the younger children. He assists staff with Club programming, supervises and helps Club members during Power Hour and with activities, and always completes a committed task to the end.

Zayrron’s family situation was very challenging. With staff guidance, Zayrron learned how to make positive choices and now acts as a peer mediation helper. This experience has started him thinking about a future in psychology with a goal to study at Purdue University.

“This club is like a second home to me and it means a lot to me. The best part of it is that every day when you walk through those doors, a new beginning is waiting for you to explore. It is a fresh start for bigger and better opportunities.” Zayrron Blake
