Freedom Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce three new appointments to Harford County charitable boards.  Freedom annually supports more than 60 charitable causes that are important to its members and staff, and encourages employees to volunteer their time and skills to better serve the Harford County community, including serving on local non-profit boards.

Business Development Director, Patrice Ricciardi, was recently confirmed to the Board of Directors for the Harford Community College Foundation. The Harford Community College Foundation assists Harford Community College and the advancement of public higher education by broadening the base of support and communication with private donors and public agencies.  According to Ricciardi, she has continued to carry a strong passion to positively impact student education.  Ricciardi has chaired the Harford County Public Schools Citizens Advisory for Career & Technology for the last four years, and sees this newest venture as a great way to expand her scope of influence.  “By working directly with the college, I will be able to help address the identified needs of students in order to promote a higher level of success.  Ricciardi also serves the Harford County community as Secretary for the Bel Air Rotary Club, and Chair-Elect for the Harford County Chamber of Commerce.

Business Development Director, Susan Manning was most recently appointed to the board of the Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) Discovery Center, which aims to create a place where students of all ages explore, experience, invent, and play with technology.  Manning first became involved with the organization in 2017 and was instrumental in planning the APG Centennial Celebration, APG Discovery Center’s first major fundraising initiative.

Manning also serves as the Chair of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, and on the Boards of the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, The Arc of Northern Chesapeake, and the Northeastern Maryland Technology Council.  Given Freedom Federal Credit Union’s long standing support to all who serve on Aberdeen Proving Ground and Manning’s exceptional commitment to volunteer in the service of others, especially the military, becoming a member of the board seemed a perfect fit.  Manning joins the APG Discovery Center board as the chair of their Development Committee.

Business Banking Specialist, Jeffrey Herman, is new to Harford County, and has been appointed to his first Board with The Route 40 Business Association, which has led the way in setting new standards for business and community in the Edgewood/Joppa area.  Herman states, “I joined the Route 40 Business Association Board to help drive the improvements on the Route 40 corridor.”  Looking to positively impact Harford County businesses and non-profits through his knowledge of shifting trends in real estate, Herman lends experience and insight to the board.  He hopes to use his position at Freedom along with his expertise in business lending to enhance the projects that come before The Association.
