Harford Mutual Insurance Company (“Harford Mutual”) is pleased to announce the promotion of John Goodin to Senior Vice President, Commercial Business Services. Unanimously approved by the Board of Directors, the promotion follows the recent retirement of Executive Vice President Robert Ohler.

“Since joining Harford Mutual, John has been instrumental in the evolution, achievements, and ultimate success of the Underwriting Department,” said Harford Mutual President and CEO Steve Linkous. “We look forward to his leadership as we enter this next stage of our corporate growth.”

Goodin began his insurance career with Allstate and later Zurich before joining Harford Mutual in 2009 as Director of Underwriting. He was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Commercial Business Services in 2013 and to Vice President in 2015. He has a bachelor’s degree in insurance from Mississippi State University and has earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations.

“We have spent the last several years implementing strategies that ensure sustained, profitable growth for our company and our agency partners and providing enhanced product offerings for our insureds. By focusing on our core principles, we remain committed to accessibility, responsiveness, and accountability in every aspect of our business,” said Goodin.
