Proceeds from the November 6 event will help provide free financial education programs for residents of the Havre de Grace Housing Authority and the surrounding community.
Guests of the fourth annual Beacon of Hope Gala on November 6 will have quite a selection of items to bid on during the event’s live and silent auctions. Dozens of local shops, as well as major businesses in the surrounding region, have donated merchandise and services at a wide array of price points to support the only fundraiser for The SUCCESS Project, a 501(c)3 affiliate of the Havre de Grace Housing Authority (HDGHA). The gala and auction will be held Saturday, November 6 from 7:00-11:00 p.m. at Bulle Rock Golf Course, 320 Bleinheim Lane, Havre de Grace. Tickets are $45 per person or $400 for a table of 10 and can be purchased through EventBrite.
Among the items up for bid this year are merchandise from specialty retailers, passes to golf courses, and gift certificates for area hair salons, massages, antique shops and restaurants including Kona Grill and The Cheesecake Factory. In addition, attendees can also bid on tickets to a performance at Center Stage in Baltimore or a Georgetown basketball game; fine jewelry; sports memorabilia; a family membership to The Walters Art Museum; a sightseeing cruise around the Inner Harbor; a Pandora bracelet from Smyth Jewelers; a private wine class for 20 and much more. There will be a special auction preview at 6:30 p.m. so guests can see the entire collection of auction items available.
Besides the auction, the Beacon of Hope Gala offers a full evening of entertainment, with live music provided by the Upstairs Jazz Trio, delicious food and a cash bar. All proceeds from the auction and ticket sales will help provide free financial counseling programs for the adults and youth of the community. The programs are open to the public.
The SUCCESS Project Executive Director Nicki Biggs says, “We are very appreciative of the many donations we have received for the Beacon of Hope auction. There is truly something for everyone! We look forward to a fun evening that will not only celebrate the success of our current program participants, but also enable us to provide the resources that will help many more families achieve financial independence.”
