4th Annual Healthy Lifestyles Event Moves to New Location, Extends Hours & Expands with More Vendors and Activities

WHAT:                 Healthy Harford Day 2014, a TOTALLY FREE healthy lifestyles event for the public, offering a full schedule of exercise classes, demos and activities emceed by radio personality Tracy Hart from WAMD 970, plus lots of giveaways for visitors. Come dressed to MOVE!

 

 

FREE exercise classes, plus demonstrations and activities for the whole family all day, including:

 

  • Free bike helmets and professional fittings from the Gregg Krause Foundation & Bike Shop of Bel Air
  • Free massages
  • Free health screenings
  • Tips from area Nutritionists and wellness coaches
  • Ask a Pediatrician hosted by Pediatric Partners
  • Professional Physical Therapist Advice from Gold Metal Physical Therapy
  • Chiropractic Care
  • Learn how to grow and make your own baby food courtesy of WIC and UM Cooperative Extension
  • Children’s Activities – Moon Bounce and Facepainting
  • How to Avoid Ticks this season and information on Lyme Disease
  • And more!

9:30 – Kick Boxing with Candi Carr-Smith, Y of Central Maryland

10:00 – Zumba with Juan Alzamora, Bel Air Zumba

11:00 – Plant-based Cooking Demonstration with Jim Gerity

11:30 – CPR Party, UM Upper Chesapeake Health and Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps

12:00 – Irish Dancing with Ryan’s School of Irish Dancing

 

Second Stage Schedule:

9:00 – Stroller Strides Mommy and Me exercise class

9:30 – Boot camps with Kelly

10:00 – Streetwise Self Defense

11:00 – Beachbee Yoga and Stand Up Paddleboard

11:30 – Fitness Craze

12:00 – Xtend Barre ballet based exercise

12:30 – Holy Harford Yoga

 

WHY:                    This annual event is designed to raise awareness about Healthy Harford’s mission, as well as services, policies, and programs in the community to help residents get and stay healthy.

Healthy Harford is the Healthy Communities Initiative of Harford County. A non-profit 501c3, Healthy Harford is a coalition of local government agencies, businesses, non profits, and citizens dedicated to improving the health of Harford County residents.

Founded in 1993 by community leaders from the Harford County Health Department, Harford County Government, and Upper Chesapeake Health, Healthy Harford’s sole vision is to make Harford County the healthiest community in Maryland.
