(August 2014, Harford County, MD)

Club members and staff of Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County are squealing with delight at the success of this year’s annual Kiss-A-Pig contest and fundraiser. Held in conjunction with the MD State BBQ Bash held in Bel Air on Friday, August 8, 2014, the Kiss-A-Pig event raised over $35,000 to support the 5 Clubs in Harford County.

Eleven individuals and five teams worked tirelessly holding paint nights, selling raffle tickets, and sponsoring happy hours to raise money and bring awareness to the Great Futures that begin through supported programs at the Clubs.

Team Harford Mutual, Frank Kellner, Caty Hartley, and C.J. D’Alessio, brought home the title of MVP—Most Valuable Puckerers—raising nearly $6,000. “We sold t-shirts, hosted a happy hour, raffled an autographed Cal Ripken, Jr. batting helmet, and partnered with the WOLO Food Truck and Tikiz Shaved Iced over the summer to raise our money,” says team captain, Frank Kellner. “It was most definitely a group effort.”

Special thanks to Howard McComas IV, the event chair and Paula Cassagrande, Big House Signs, for donating the amazing promotional materials used throughout the summer and at the event, valued at more than $2,000 dollars.
